Mikayla is the sister of one of my closest friends and last week I was able to fly down to Charlotte and be a part of her wedding in such a special way from beginning to end.
Their wedding was wonderful. The day started off early in the city where we did the first look at the same spot that they got engaged and then we explored a park in downtown. Later in the day we headed to the venue, Tuscan Ridge Wedding Venue, where everyone got ready and where both the ceremony and reception were held. Though the sun periodically peeped from behind the clouds throughout the day, it wasn't until the ceremony started that it began to rain... hard. What is an outdoor wedding without a little rain and excitement? Everyone graciously embraced the rain and the celebration continued. The dessert reception soon followed with a collection of decadent treats paired with lemonade or hot coffee. Another fun detail I loved about their wedding was the guestbook. Paul's sister and brother-in-law took photos of the guests with polaroid cameras and guests wrote a special note to the bride and groom beside their photo. It was a thoughtful and neat way to remember guests.
I hope you enjoy revisiting the day through these images.
